Here is our learning web for this week: Upcoming Important Dates and Reminders: - Every Thursday is our Home Reading and Learning Commons book exchange. - Next Thursday and Friday (February 15th and 16th) is Teachers' Convention, so there is no school for students - Monday February 19th is Family Day, there is no school. - Mr. Barker returns on Tuesday February 20th for the second half of his practicum. - The Cultural Games unit will begin on Monday. - Friday February 23rd is our next Fun Lunch and Flex Friday.

Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming!
We are going swimming and forms are coming home today! We will be going June 11-14th, 18th, and 19th. We will leave the school at 9:20 am and will return around 11:15 am. Please fill out the regular field trip forms, as well as the Swimming Ability form for your child, and return to the school by this Friday, June 1st. We will also need two volunteers for the trip. If you are available for some, or all, of the days, and have your volunteer clearance, please email me at clwillis@cbe.ab.ca. Other Important Dates for this Week: - Drum Fit will continue all this week with Mrs. Buonomo and Mrs. Fraser. - Regular book exchange will be this Thursday (last day to take out books from the Learning Commons is June 8th) - Friday June 1st - Swimming field trip forms are due - Friday June 1st - Scholastic Book Orders are due (this will be the final book order of the school year). These are some of the things that we have been working on in Room 106 ... Humanities We finished off persuasive essays by looking at the topic of the three best ways that the First Nations used the land sustainably. We are now looking at biographies. Students are looking at Canadian Olympic Snowboarder Mark McMorris as an introduction to how to write a biography. Later on, students will be researching an individual who was/is important to Alberta and will write that individual's biography.
