- Choose how you would like to present your information. Options include:
- A Google Slideshow
- A written paragraph
- A poem
- A song
- A journal entry
- A play
- An interview
- Choose something out of the “Story Presentations” book
- You must have writing in your presentation, and it must:
- Include who, what, where, when, how
- Explain how the person had an impact on Alberta
- Have clear headings explaining what you will be talking about
- Be in the correct chronological order
- Have interesting details, words, and voice
- Have correct spelling and punctuation
- Include information that will “wow” the reader
Math
- For the past two days students have been working on a "Show What You Know" about multiplication and division. We have also been exploring fractions and students are working on a Minecraft Selfie to help them see the connections between fractions, decimals, and percent. It would still be beneficial for students to be practicing their multiplication basic facts. Each student has an IXL account, and they can access the website here:

Science
- Students are finishing off their unit on Light and Shadow with a test today. Next up will be Plant Growth and Changes. We will be exploring this topic further when the Scientist in the Classroom visits on May 22nd. We still need some volunteers for this opportunity. Please contact me at clwillis@cbe.ab.ca if you are available from 8:00 - 11:30 on that day.
French
- We are doing a unit on Family and the culminating activity will be putting together a Family Album. Students are being asked to draw, but as we get closer to the end of the unit, students will be welcome to bring in additional photographs for their album. The photographs will be returned at the end of the unit.
Reminders and Important Dates:
- Students did their own blog update today
- Every Thursday is our Home Reading and Learning Commons book exchange. At this time of year, students should be reading chapter books, so the Home Reading exchange may no longer be applicable.
- Tomorrow is our Stampede Breakfast. The Grade 4's will be the first to be called down and you are welcome to stay to join in the festivities!
- There is no school for students on Friday May 18th or Monday May 21st
- Scientist in the Classroom presentation Tuesday May 22nd (volunteers needed)
- Field trip to Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park (forms will be coming home on Monday)
- Friday May 25th is Flex Friday and Fun Lunch
