Highlights of our week ... so far:

This week we did some learning about math with cards.  We practiced multiplication by "Splat" math.  The same day we made a Christmas wish where we have a class wish on a star and an individual wish on red or green paper.  Then we put it together to make a chain connected to a star, like a shooting star!  WHOOOOOO! - Khushi

Some of us kept working on our Creepy Crawly Village. - Ivana

We continued working on our autobiographies. - Sarah

Students are using this checklist to help them to self-edit the middle of their autobiography.

I have checked that my middle:
  • contains the middle events of my life
  • has detail and description
  • COPS
    • Capitals (“I”, beginning of a sentence, proper nouns)
    • Organization (the order makes sense, split the writing into paragraphs)
    • Punctuation (period, commas, question marks, exclamation marks, quotation marks, apostrophe)
    • Spelling (make sure to ask if you are unsure of how to spell something)
  • has a variety of sentence beginners
  • has sequence words
7-11 gave us the money for our playground! - Athryn
